How to use essential oils
Three simple ways
Aroma
Add 4 to 6 drops to a diffuser with water, or 2 drops on a tissue or a clay diffuser. Diffuse for 30 to 60 minutes at a time in a ventilated room.
Massage
Always dilute first. Mix the essential oil into a carrier oil like our cold-pressed coconut or sesame oil (see the chart below), then massage gently.
Bath
Mix 5 to 8 drops into a spoon of carrier oil or milk first, then add to warm bath water. Oil and water don't mix on their own.
Dilution chart
| Strength | Drops per teaspoon (5 ml) of carrier oil | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| 0.5% | 1 drop in 2 teaspoons | Children 6 to 12; strong oils like clove and cinnamon leaf |
| 1% | 1 drop | Face, sensitive skin, older adults |
| 2% | 2 drops | Everyday body massage |
| 3% | 3 drops | Short-term use on a small area |
Babies under 2: no essential oils. Use plain cold-pressed sesame or coconut oil.
